The Pulitzer Prize and Tony-Award-winning landmark American musical Rent is coming to the Performing Arts Center's Chapman Music Hall August 29-September 3.

Inspired by Puccini's La Boheme, Rent is a joyous, breathtaking and often bittersweet musical that celebrates a community of artists as they struggle with the soaring hopes and tough realities of today's world. Sweeping all major theatre awards, including the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent captures the heart and spirit of a generation. The most honored musical since A Chorus Line, Rent is only the fifth musical to win both the Pulitzer and the Tony Award.

Rent was written by Jonathan Larson and directed by Michael Greif.

Ticket prices are: Tuesday through Thursday evening performances, and Saturday and Sunday matinees are $50, $40 and $30. Opening night only there will be a special $10 discount on all tickets. Friday and Saturday evening ticket prices are $55, $45 and $35. Wednesday matinee tickets are $25. A limited number of seats at each performance will be offered at $20. Themes and language are best suited for mature audiences.
