3/26/98 ah, the first review from cincy - the city that sent letters to the other theatres on the tour warning them about the content of RENT  :-)

and a note from one of our friends regarding st. louis - "we set records for the biggest week in the history of RENT, and in the history of that 5,000 seat theatre".  w00!

3/25/98 i snagged this post off siteforrent cuz i didn't want it to go unnoticed or be overlooked.  this is why i love RENT.

from st. louis:

I've seen a lot of musicals at the Fox over the years, but Rent was something special. It almost rivals The first time I got to see Phantom live. But this experience was completely different. The lack of clutter on the stage and the straight forwardness made me get into this. It was exciting, something I cannot say about most of the musicals I've seen. Even listening to it is energizing. I was really suprised.

I thought I'ld hate the show. I'm usually very conservative, but this show taught me many things and helped change my attitude about a lot of things. Angel and Collins especially helped me realize my "Catholic" upbringing is wrong. People should be who they are, and those two were made for each other.

It taught me about life as well. It echoed the sentiments my family went through when my 13 year old sister was diagnosed with lukemia. The stupid things melted away and just being around her became very important. Both of these things taught me a lot about the value of life.

3/2/98 a BIG article from houston yesterday (thanx again elizabeth!) - this thing took me *forever* to type!  all the pix in the paper are of the benny cast - you've seen them all b4 but if you want a copy of it, tower carries the houston chronicle.

that same article from dallas was in the oc register yesterday, and this little blurb about RENT (well, it's really about noise/funk but RENT is mentioned  ;-)

3/1/98 so yesterday rentmom & i went down to ocpac, met up with arlyn (she's a doll) and paid for our costa mesa closing nite tickets. very cool.
