6/27/01 897.  that's how many blocked senders i have on my list, and *still* the spam continues.  argh!  :-)

6/26/01 hola! :-)

one day back online and i'm about 1/16th of the way thru mail.  some of your's i've read and will get back to you soon as i can.

and, not to be rude, but there's a bunch of you writing me asking when so-and-so left the show and just weird stuff - it's all here on the site - look around - *then* if you can't find it, email me and i'll be happy to assist.  my mailbox is about to explode again with all this random stuff coming out of the woodwork so please, do a little legwork on your own and look around.

nice to hear so many of you also watch 'sex and the city' tho, LOL! :-)

6/25/01 so i'm sure you've all heard the news about the RENT movie and spike lee by now, but thought i'd post it anyway.  i've been offline so long i have thousands of messages to go thru so i don't even know if this has been discussed. :-0

6/21/01

#1 - that entry on 6/10 about the closing nite t-shirts - i wrote "elaine" instead of eileen - ack!  i had been working with a girl named elaine all day - sorry eileen!  also - she's not making any more shirts so... you snooze you lose :-)

#2... i'm not going to SF.  i gave my tickets to my daughter and her girlfriend, so i won't see you all there.  take lots of pictures and send 'em to me!  it just didn't work out for me to go, there's too much drama going on here with work and stuff.  s'okay, i've had plenty of time with the bennytour, and most of the people i know in the cast and band are gone, so... it's okay.

karen c., i'm thinking of you.

i had a really bad dickie day yesterday, the worst in a long time.  i was watching a 'queen' documentary, all about freddy, and it just set me off. bad, bad day. and i'm *still* haggling over his belongings, the lawyers just can't get their shit together, altho as of may 31st i'm paying for the storage, i can't have any of it. wtf?

freud, travis, all you guys, i miss you but i can't get this st00pid router to work right now and i've spent *hours* on the phone with the cable company.  and oh yeah, i'm still not over whatever the hell it was i caught when i went on vacation in may.  doctor put me on some new meds last monday but they haven't done anything either. i can't *hear* for shit, and i'm getting really tired of it.  it's definitely making me sympathetic to people with hearing problems!

i've been watching lots of tv and there's this "computer video professor" ad that keep getting played over and over and over - how he can teach you to use a computer in just a few hours and how wonderful it is.  then he hauls out these testimonials from people who've written him saying how wonderful his programs are - and they're handwritten!  it cracks me up, i feel like i should write him and say "you know, it would probably be a better idea to show testimonials from people who had learned to use the computer and written to you *on the computer* using your tutorials than show a bunch of handwritten notes.  just a thought"  :-)

jimbo, i'm okay, just can't freakin' get online!

6/20/01 well, my router's been on the blink which means no internet access, but i figured i'll just write and post it later when i can.  this is an AIDS related post pretty much... all the stuff i've been reading... 20 years... all that.  this one particularly made me think of dickie.  if you've never read the The Theory, or didn't understand it, don't feel bad... it took months of him explaining it to me, but once again, things in this article bear out what he thought.  the immune system is wasting it's time chasing after particles that are free-circulating in the bloodstream.  meanwhile, the real viral damage is occurring in the cells.  and i can't even tell you how many times we talked about this, what he heard in the support groups he facilitated and what he tried to get across to people.  dickie was no angel, but, he knew this discussion well.

another

and one more thing - "in their own words"

6/13/01 oh gawd!  i got the best/funniest/lamest porn spam yeterday!

"HOWDY PARTNERS!  WE'RE DOWN ON THE FARM!  FARM SECRETS! - what everybody else won't show you!  It's so outrageous we aren't premitted (notice the spelling) to describe what's inside, but trust me this isn't your Ma & Pa's Farm!"   HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

"tick... tick... boom!" clips are up - check it out!  some comments from another friend/RENTfan:

"yes it is from suburbia.  at a Q&A friday night between shows, vickie leacock, in answer to my question, said all of the songs are from the original tick, tick, except "come to my senses" (which amy spanger performs - and absolutely blows the doors off- stops the show) - it was inserted at the suggestion of pulitzer prize winner david auburn.  she said his script consultant role has been invaluable in transforming a one man show to three performers (raul esparza: fantastic, amy spanger: more than that, and jerry dixon:  wonderful), and he has kept more than 80% of the original version in the process.  vickie leacock asked me to get the word out to the RENT folks, and i am doing it now.  this is a fantastic show, whether you know RENT or not. if you do, it is even more so.  the orchestration by stephen oremus (off broadway wild party), is absolutely true to jonathan and RENT.  i saw thursday through last nite, previews - #2 through 7.  got better every time.  get there and see it."

and an article/review from the NY times about it - i need to see this show!

i got *so many responses* from all you closet "pop stars* fans!  i love it - but we're all embarrassed to like the show - why is that?  it's just plain *fun* :-)  i thnk i got more responses to that one question than any i've ever asked before!

so here's another one:  how many of you watch "sex and the city?"  i never miss it if i can help it, and last sunday night i burst out laughing during the conversation between carrie and mr. big at the jazz club (big and carrie are almost/kindof ex-lovers attempting to become "just friends").  big took carrie to a jazz club and as they were sitting there listening to the group:

big:  [something to the effect of]: "so, what do you think?  these cats are really good!"

carrie:  "these *cats*"?

big: "loosen up baby, we're below 14th street now!"  how cool was *that*, lol!  ;-)  so, tell me, who watches it?

6/12/01 here's another review from SF opening - thanks karen c. :-)

off to watch ally - or angel.  i hate that they've put the two on at the same day/same time.  LAME!  ;-)

6/10/01

wow, after i got thru the week's email - there's a *bunch* of you who watch "pop stars", i'm not alone :-)  should we spawn a new mailing list like the buffy-rent one?  "pop-stars-rent"?  LOL!

i'm not going to post this whole AEGIS message here, just link to it.  it upset me, and took me back to a message dickie posted in '99.  it's important, and disturbing to me, and i hope to you too.

AND, the san francisco AIDS walk is on july 15th.  since *so* many RENT fans will be in town, this would be a great way to meet each other, spend the morning together, *and* do some good.  a team has already been formed, all you have to do is go sign up!  go to:  register now, and in the "company/school/team name or number" field, enter "rentheads".  friends of all of ours  from all over the country and the world are coming for this closing - let's make it a great fundraising day too.

just in case you don't read the 'renthead's board, elaine has created closing night t-shirts for anyone who wants to buy one.  check out 'bennytour closing night t-shirts' for more info.  good job elaine :-)

jimbo!  *thank you* for my 'tick... tick... boom!" t-shirt and playbill - i love them :-)

6/09/01 june 9th *already*!  we're halfway to christmas already -  ack!

an *excellent* review from opening in san francisco - thank you danica :-)

i'm wading thru mail after another week of being offline.  if you've sent stuff, i'll get to it!

flinkers, sounds like you're having *fun*!  ;-)

and i missed "pop stars" last nite cuz i was watching the lakers.  what happened courtney? ;-)

6/01/01

i have a confession to make.

a sordid confession.

i'm hooked on "pop stars".

LOL!

i *love* the talent (and lack thereof), the raw emotion, the whole thing.  does anyone else watch this?  tell me so i don't feel so alone - even my daughter is making fun of me :-)

that being said... i know several of you who ought to be auditioning for this - you know who you are!

and that's my cheese for the beginning of this month - happy june :-)
