yahoo/webring has totally screwed up what used to be a good thing :::sigh:::  if you want to join the ring now, you have to first sign up for a yahoo account and then register your site.  it's all in lame pastel yahoo colors too.  and if you're already *in* the ring - you need to go update your links - a bunch of you joined and then moved your sites.  i had fun tonite going thru the links tho - and following links on all those old sites to even older sites and seeing what some people are up to these days.  anji, stephen, bridge, rja - kenya!?  wow :-)

and yay!  "dirty blonde" opens at the 'theatre of the square' april 17th with *our* bob from TLS and claudia shear too!  previews start april 10th.  call TOTS at 415-433-9500 for tickets - they go on sale march 4th.  i saw it in new york (cuz bob was in it, lol) - it's about mae west fans who meet at her gravesite and about mae herself.  it's a fun show and bob got nominated for a tony - i gotta go again :-)

i keep finding so many broken links and just fucked-up-in-general pages on this site.  i'm trying to fix them as i find them but that keeps me from doing anything with the boards or the guestbook or anything else.  oh well, i'll get to them when i can.

reen sent me a postcard from the leicester production of RENT (the UK tour) - i'll scan it when i get time to a) buy a new ubs card or b) buy a new scanner - but it's a picture of 'mark' & 'roger' with the caption "A Musical Love Story for Our Time".  never knew mark & roger were a "couple", lol, it looks really weird :-)

lisa (my daughter) just called from new orleans.  they left at 10am this morning to go to mardis gras and are staying down on bourbon street - too cool!  they just arrived, there's a zillion people there already (she already got beads on the plane on the way there :-) and it's 70 degrees at 8pm - i'm so jealous!  it hasn't stopped raining here ALL day and i haven't gone anywhere or done anything *fun* in what feels like ages.  work, sleep, work, sleep.  and my mail's not working right again *either*,  i can receive but not send.  bleh. 

another TLS convention is in the works!  cincy - july 13th - 15th ( the actual run is july 11th - july 27th but all the TLS'ers will be there the weekend of the 13th).  if you haven't seen this show yet (and i've been posting about it for several years now) - GO.  meet the other cult members and the cincy cast.  i guarantee this show will reach you like no other but RENT.  more details to follow :-)

michael has started a "living with HIV" group - i'm SO proud of you michael!  we have an interesting 'history', michael and i.  he had never, ever posted anywhere or subbed to any mailing lists, or talked to anyone online, but one day a few years ago, after one of the times he'd seen RENT, he found his way to the old  graffiti wall and decided to post about how the show affected him.  he's a long-term AIDS survivor, one of the few who has survived the 80's.  it was a really heartfelt post and  i answered him privately - and then i dogged him for months (that crazy broad from orange county :-) to come see TLS when it was in laguna and then in LA.  i finally got him to LA and the rest is history - we went to the show at the tiffany - where he used to work way back when.  all his friends he worked with there have died and it was an intense experience for him - being back there *and* seeing TLS for the first time.  and it was intense for me too - i cried, he cried, we talked, we cried - and now he's reaching out once again to help support the positive community.  i couldn't be more proud of you michael, and i love you dearly :-)

wow, i've been offline for a *month*.  january was good and bad: my hard drive crashed in the midst of this server move, dealing with the one-year anniversary of dickie's death (he crashed my drive to get me to pay attention to my emotions, i swear :-)  but i'm okay, it's actually been pretty good, *much* better than i expected.

i've installed and uninstalled and reinstalled office so many times that i've lost all the mail that was sent to me  in january and even in the last few days.  i briefly saw titles of messages from people sending articles/reviews/pictures, but then they were all lost, so send them again!   (stacy?) - i know someone sent pictures and good articles/reviews.  blue, i've even lost the message you *just* sent me.

i'm working on the boards, there are 'issues' but hopefully they'll be resolved soon.  the new host is a Win2K platform so things don't work like they used to.  i LOVE windows 2000 tho - if you haven't upgraded, do it!  get off of '95, '98, NT, all of those, this is *so* much better.

so, just dropping in to say hi, i'm alive, and i'm working on the boards but don't have much time during the week.  feedback probli won't work either, i haven't even looked at that yet.  oh well, happy february :-)  if you find other stuff that's not working, let me know!
