4/29/01 just a little news - or rather a couple of articles from birmingham and new york.  thanks stacy and karen c :-)

other than that, i've been working pretty much 24/7 and i need sleep *badly*.  we're launching new applications and developing new standards and omg, it's 11:30pm and i just remembered i have a new guy starting tomorrow and... and... gah!

and - would you believe - on my other pc today i got a "boot sector virus - unable to be cleaned".  i can't believe this.

karen c. - fly us to SF, i do *not* want to drive ;-)

4/24/01 yeow, after all these years and all these 'rent font' debates - the actual font is 'TypeVinBold'.  i was wrong and so was everyone else.  anyway, if you want it - 'tis here (as a zip file).  if you don't know how to install a font... click 'help' on windows explorer.

and kat's pictures from green bay are *finally* up - thanks kat - sorry it took so long! :-)  laura, your boston pics are next!

this non-equity tour thing is, um, funky.  since they passworded the 'tourdates' section, i got a message from them pretty much telling me to figure out the schedule myself.  whatEVER.  can you say "BITE ME"?

4/16/01 LOL, this so made me laugh!  i'm workin' on it eileen - at least i can *update* once again!  i'll get there, i promise ;-)

i guess i might as well start the non-equity tourdates page.  here's an article about richmond next year.  thanks mike :-)  i know there are other dates folks have sent me, but *one more time* - i lost all my mall so send 'em again if you have them.

i made new businesss cards for my whole group this weekend.  they look just like our original cards, except i created a new graphic and put it on them:

or

they're going to love 'em ;-)

4/13/01 happy friday the 13th!  wow, suddenly a deluge of reviews from boston.  thanks stacy :-)  here's #1, #2 and #3.

take note (thanks karen c)!

honest kat, your pictures are coming :-)  i'm messing around with photoshop 6, and it's *different*.  cool, but different.

i suddenly got another petition from dickie's FS's lawyer yesterday.  i'm just... amazed.  over a year later and this crap is still going on.

4/10/01

happy birthday amber!

i love you girl :-)

i hope you have one of the best ever, charro :)

and, finally some actual content to put up :-)  here are jeff's pictures from portland (thanks jeff - i lke that one of matt & curtis too :-)  and karen sent this picture of shaun from seattle this year, but she cut herself out of it, so i'm just going to put it here ;-)

and here's a couple of reviews from green bay: #1 and #2, and an old article from st. paul - thanks stacy :-)

katie, your pictures are next :-)

calling all hedwig fans: nick garrison, who played in the seattle production, has now been 'lured' to the upcoming chicago production.  i've heard nothing but good things about this guy (and have a few friends who are obsessed ;-)  the show is supposed to start may 11th and run for 15 weeks.

4/6/01 i have so much other stuff to put up than this, but since i *live* here in CA, i like this :-)

America has engaged in some finger wagging lately because California doesn't have enough electricity to meet its needs. The rest of the country (including George W. Bush's energy secretary Spencer Abraham, who wants Californians to suffer through blackouts as justification for drilling for oil in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge) seems to be just fine with letting Californians dangle in the breeze without enough power to meet their needs. They laugh at Californians' frivolity.

Well, everybody, here's how it really is:

California ranks 48th in the nation in power consumed per person.

California grows more than half the nation's fruit, nuts and vegetables.  We're keeping them. We need something to eat when the power goes out.

We grow 99 percent or more of the nation's almonds, artichokes, dates, figs, kiwifruit, olives, persimmons, pistachios, prunes, raisins and walnuts. Hope
you won't miss them.

California is the nation's number one dairy state.  We're keeping our dairy products.  We'll need plenty of fresh ones since our refrigerators can't be relied upon. Got milk?

We Californians are gonna keep all our high-tech software in state.  Silicon Valley is ours, after all.  Without enough electricity, which you're apparently keeping for yourselves, we just plain don't have enough software to spare.

We're keeping all our airplanes. California builds a good percentage of the commercial airliners available to fly you people to where you want to go. When yours wear out, you'd better hope Boeing's Washington plant can keep you supplied. There isn't enough electricity here to allow us to export any more planes than we need ourselves.

And while we're at it, we're keeping all our high-tech aerospace stuff, too, like the sophisticated weapons systems  that let you sleep at night, not worried you might wake up under the rule of some foreign kook.

Oh, yeah, and if you want to make a long-distance call, remember where the satellite components and tracking systems come from.  Maybe you could get back in the habit of writing letters.

Want to see a blockbuster movie this weekend?  Come to California.  We make them here.  As we will now have to make them with our own electricity, we're keeping them.  Even if we shot them somewhere else, the labs, printing facilities, editing facilities, and sound facilities are all here.

Want some nice domestic wine?  We produce over 17 million gallons per year.  We'll need all of it to drown our sorrows when we think about the fact that no matter how many California products we export to make the rest of America's lives better, America can't see its way clear to help us out with a little electricity. You can no longer have any of our wine.

You all complain that we don't build enough power plants.  Well, you don't grow enough food, write enough software, make enough movies, build enough airplanes and defense systems, or make enough wine.

This is your last warning, America.  Lighten (us) up before it's too late.

Love,
The Californians

hahahahaha! i love it ;-)

4/4/01 damn!  no sooner did i get my new pc up and functioning again than *both* of my hard drives crashed (including the new one!)  and fucking microsys couldn't replace the new one, they had to order it from overseas for goddsakes!  so, another month has gone by and i just got the new/new drive and am reinstalling everything *again*.  it's the beginning of april and i've had four hard drive crashes so far this year - and this last one, with the new ibm drive - was completely unrecoverable.

so anyway, hi y'all :-)  i have lots of stuff to put up, soon as i can get to it all.  happy april :-)
