4/19/00 okay, i'm hawking cd's again :-)  steve (TLS) has recorded a new cd called "the bonus round sessions".  some of the songs are from the now out of print "bonus round" cd, rerecorded, some from TLS sung by the El Lay cast, and some are new.  the cd is dedicated to dickie and all proceeds go to youth guardian services.  you can order the cd here or if you don't have a credit card, email me and i'll send you a copy. they're $15 each, i'll cover the postage.  i love this, and thank you shannon - executive producer!, and steve, for doing this for dickie, for me, for ygs.  just... thank you.

from jimbo:

You may never see another musical created by Jonathan Larson, the Tony Award winning composer and writer of RENT.

Jonathan tragically died of a ruptured aortic aneurysm, believed to be caused by the Marfan syndrome, just before RENT opened. Although he went to two emergency rooms, he was not diagnosed and did not get the surgical intervention that could have saved his life.

The Larson family has established a lifesaving fund to educate ER personnel to recognize and treat the Marfan syndrome and aortic dissection, which are often associated. Next time it could be you or your loved one.

Please send your donations to:

4/6/00 i actually *am* alive, just going thru alot of... stuff.  dickie's death has had a more profound effect on me than anything that's ever happened in my life, and just when i think "ok, i've got *some* kind of grip on this", something hits me out of the blue.   tuesday night i was just lyin' there doing nothing, watching TV, minding my own business and all of a sudden there's *his doctor* on TV, the one i screamed at and cried at and wanted to strangle, on EXTRA.  it was so out of left field, i told both steve & karen that my emotions are so close to the surface - even when i think they aren't - i felt like someone had picked me up and just slammed me against the wall.

did i even write about going to the show in long beach?  i did (go), and it was - interesting.  baby steps.

*last* week i got a letter from his sister's attorney stating that they believe his signature on the document he wrote in the hospital leavimg the contents of his house to me, whatever of it i wanted, is false.   jeez, dickie talked to his sister about it before he died and she said there'd be no problem, and she talked to *me* about it and said there'd be no problem - now this crap.  whatthefuckever.  this is *exactly* what he was trying to prevent from happening by writing the damn note in the first place - fucking scavenger's.  U G H.

here's an article from eugene, and altho karen c. already posted it everywhere possible ;-) - just in case you missed it: "Anthony will be performing a set of original songs at Wilson's on April 17th...  Wilson's is located at 201 West 79th Street, between Amsterdam and Broadway. The number for dinner reservations is (212) 769-0100.  Otherwise, just showing up is fine.  Also, the show will be starting somewhere between 8:30 and 10:00 pm (they'll probably have more info closer to the actual date), and there will be a $10 cover charge ($15 minimum if reserving a table for dinner).

doesn't amy (coleman) perform there sometimes, or some of the TLS people hang there or something?  it sounds really familiar. elan?

craig got us all tickets to the HRC - Equality Rocks concert in DC for april 29th - w00! :-)  me, shannon, craig, sherri, stacey, ben (of the infamous ben's ass pictures scattered around this site), lisa and i don't know who all else are going, but yay! jimbo are you SURE you can't make it to DC that weekend? :-)

this thing is so cool, i love this!  "constructor" - my boss sent me this link - now how am i supposed to get any work done when i can play with *this* thing for hours? ;-)

here's the first review from eugene (thanks karen) and a giant misstep from the 'eugene weekly', lol:

"Rent, only the fifth musical to ever win both the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award, finally makes it to Eugene. Inspired by Puccini's La Boheme, Rent is the extraordinarily popular musical about a community of artists struggling against the tough realities of today's world. This company began performances in 1997 with an 18-week run in L.A. They are now on their second national tour. Joan Marcus (pictured) stars."

i wonder how much they're paying joan these days cuz man, she does *alot* - stars in the show, takes all the pictures, wow! ;-)

and the first article from colorado springs.
