Paradise Alley: Kevin McCollum, former Honolulan and co-producer of
the hit Broadway musical "Rent," is in town. Today, hes expected to
formally announce an August run of the Tony- and Pulitzer Award-winner. He jetted in from
the Mainland over the weekend, took performers Marcy Harriell and Chad Richardson from the
show, plus national marketing director Laura Matalon, to the Tihati-produced show at the
Royal Hawaiian Hotel. When laau
show host Esmond Chung introduced his female vocalist Cathy Foy, McCollum literally sat
up; he and Foy played brother and sister in the then-Honolulu Community Theatre in
"Our Town" in the mid-1970s. Natch, the two talked old times following the show
