Wilson Cruz, the openly gay actor who joins Fox's Party of Five in a recurring role this season, says he has met the real-life man of his dreams. The 25-year-old actor who'll play nanny to baby Diana and Salinger sibling Owen on Party tells gay magazine The Advocate that he recently exchanged real-life vows with aspiring R&B singer Anthony Lopez, 31, in a private commitment ceremony. "We met at a Latin grind dance class at the gym," says Cruz, who rose to fame as gay high-schooler Rickie Vasquez on ABC's 1994 cult hit My So-Called Life. "The first date we went on, it was like we'd known each other for years, but it's only been since the beginning of summer. "He doesn't let
me think any more of myself than I need to, and vice versa," adds Cruz, who'll also
have a featured role opposite Angela Bassett and Lou Diamond Phillips in the
big-budget sci-fi thriller Supernova this January. "That keeps me grounded
because it's so easy when you're in the midst of all this exciting stuff to forget who you
are unless you're surrounded by people who love you and know who you really are. And he's
gorgeous." |
