If you didn't make it to our adaptation of STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, it was a smshing success that garnered great reviews, drunken applause and the stapling of stuffed animals to my chest. Hard to beat, but we'll give it a try. For an evening you'll never forget, UP IN YOUR GRILL is taking part in the SEATTLE SKETCH COMEDY PROJECT 1999 on November 15th and 16th. 9 Seattle sketch comedy groups, hosted by John Keister and starring everybody under the sun. Go to http://www.seattlecomedy.com/ for complete details. Now the main event...UP IN YOUR GRILL, Seattle's sketch comedy group with the tightest pants, is proud to present their latest sick and depraved extravaganza: TANGO! A JOURNEY INTO FEAR "With the loss of many mid-size theatres throughout the region in the last few years, the fringe scene is in a time of crisis," says Cory Jess Nealy, spokesperson for the new program. "By selling high-quality crack cocaine to young people in Seattle schools we can create new revenue sources that actually make art pay for itself. It's a win-win." The pilot project has been very well received, and UP IN YOUR GRILL is hoping to expand their lines to include pornography, handguns and snack foods by spring at more than 40 area schools. "We bring them first-rate rock at low, low prices, passing the savings along to the kids...and parents know the money goes to support the good cause of sketch comedy," says Nealy. The latest show, TANGO! A JOURNEY INTO FEAR features extensive choreography around the themes of fear and dance, highlighting the physical virtuosity that this eclectic ensemble has perfected. It will also have a baby dinosaur in a prominent role. No, really. Bring your crack
pipe, bring the children and come see comedy so potent the shipyards use us as paint
thinner. |
