i can't
believe this family must...i can't say it!...
conrad
well, it's over...
great show, but very, very emotional. i sat orchestra row c - seats 110,109 and everyone around us were yelling, screaming... and crying.
before the show started, when the angel's came flying onto the stage, they were greeted by a long standing ovation. and when we finally sat down, trey just looked around for another second, and everyone in the theater started laughing. lol. it was the beginning of a great night.
RENT was so amazing, because of the tremendous energy that filled the Golden Gate. Screams were coming out of every nook and cranny! And the cast felt and fed of off everyone's energy!
GLORY. Dean is amazing! Tonite's Glory had so much emotion, like this was truly the last time he was going to sing this song, and as Roger, he felt it and became him. There was a lot of cheering after Glory even though it goes right into LMC.
LMC. There was so much more chemistry between Dean and Sharon than i've seen before. The last match didn't light the candle, but it was cool, because (wow)nd up throwing the candle backstage anyways. (insert crowd roar here)
T4U. Once again, a long ovation for shaun as he emerged from the red lights behind him. and once again, shaun waited a minute or two to begin. and when he did the place errupted.
TANGO. Trey did a funny thing with his shoulders this time to make kamilah (and all of us) laugh. and once again, there was another ovation before, "where'd you learn how to tango?" RENTHEADS, you've gotta love'em!
OT. Sharon was on FIRE. Jeez, i wished i were that top railing :) of course, she fed of all of our energy, which came flying out at us with her glitter!
Will I. Lambert. need i say more.
Santa Fe. I'm not sure if MLJ is having problems with his voice, but he's not hitting the high notes that he did before. even on friday, his range was not there, but i love how he does his "tumbleweeds. prarie dogs." in a slow country drawl. hehehe.
OTM. Once again, a long ovation before Maureen's performance. it was so long that Trey had to scream out "Maureen's Performance!" over the screams to get Erin started. My favorite part of tonite's OTM, was after she "sucked the sweetest milk that I have ever tasted," we went crazy, and after the screams died, she turned to us and said, "Wait, there's more."
LVB. Energy was SO unbelievable. But my favorite part is with lambert's m&m's--you know, when he's about to put an m&m in his mouth, and benny sings, "...where people piss on your stoop every night," and lambert puts the m&m back with a disgusted expression. Robin's "evita" expression got a lot of laughs. Roger's guitar pick didn't bounce that high, but i miss christian's flick at trey. never miss!
SOL. Once again... looking up at the angel's all of them were really appreciative in the sounds of applause that came from us. erin looked like she was going to cry.
TMOLM. erin and kamilah rocked the house. once again...
Without You. i loved shaun's acting. so sad.
ICYR. i strongly dislike the words, "it's over." they brought so much finality, that hearing them sucked, because it's the end of the angel cast... but i digress. MLJ's range was missing once again, but there were tears everywhere.
Halloween. trey really sounded emotional singing this. i guess it was that finality thing starting to creep in.
Goodbye, Love. i think that this is were almost everyone around me lost it. especially where dean couldn't sing, "Glory..." before he runs off stage. you could tell that he was a wreck, as well as sharon, who looked so awesome with her hair all messed up and her eyes all big and teary.
WYO. Usually, a big crowd rouser, but not from my seats. it was so sad. when dean came out, his eyes looked puffy from crying. it was at this point that the end seemed to be coming faster no matter what. that sucked!
Your Eyes/Finale. i didn't want this to end... not now. i'm pretty sure that as the film images filled the back wall the angels were tearing up inside (kinda like a yearbook film).
i can't believe this family must... i can't say it! I've waited over 3 years to finally watch RENT, and i'm glad that i've got to see it with the best (and only) cast i've ever seen. It'll be weird seeing it again without wishing it were the Angels.
Thank you Jonathan Larson for bringing your music and your message through a wonderful bunch of individuals that have changed this person's life.
